Celebrating 4th of July Disney Style!

July 2, 2024 By Magically Martinez Vacations, Inc.

Walt Disney World is a favorite place of many to celebrate the 4th of July. Walt Disney World takes this holiday seriously with special fireworks, food and unique entertainment. On the agenda for this year are special fireworks over Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park. One of the most magical sites to see is Cinderella Castle lite up in red, white and blue.

This spectacular experience can be observed on July 3rd and 4th at 9:20 p.m. within Magic Kingdom Park and can be seen from several places throughout the Magic Kingdom Area hotels. Disney will continue the celebration with extended Magic Kingdom Park hours until 1:00 a.m. which will include a DJ and a dance party in front of Cinderella Castle.

EPCOT will also join in the fun with a patriotic fireworks display called “The Heartbeat of Freedom.” This show can also be experienced on July 3rd and 4th playing a little earlier at 9:00 a.m. The American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT will also offer special photo ops with Mickey and his Pals who will be dressed in their “Spirit of ‘76” attire. This costuming is a must see!

Much like at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT’s park icon Spaceship Earth will also be lit up in red, white and blue.

Let’s Bring the Magic Home!

For those of us not lucky enough to celebrate the 4th of July in the Disney Parks, we have some fun options to bring that magic home!

Let’s start with some amazing food! EPCOT’s Regal Eagle Smokehouse will be offering a Barbeque Pulled Chicken Sandwich this year, topped with coleslaw, onion ring and house made pickles. This is an easy to re-create meal with lots of flavor that can be made in the crockpot and won’t keep you in the kitchen all day.

Do your local fireworks shows fail to dazzle like Walt Disney World’s? Or maybe your community like ours isn’t even offering one this year. Many YouTube vloggers will be streaming the magic live right to your living room. Gather your family around with some red, white and blue ice cream (vanilla ice cream with homemade, strawberry and blueberry syrup) to enjoy the fun.
