The Disney Cruise Line has a brand-new ship setting sail in December 2024. The Disney Treasure is the latest ship in the Disney fleet to bring the luxury cruising experience we know and love. As we get closer to the inaugural sailing Disney continues to share all the fun features we can expect when we set sail on the Disney Treasure.
This week Disney gave us a look into the Scat Cat Lounge. This lounge will combine the elegance of an old-school jazz club with references to the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic, “The Aristocats.” There will be several nods to the film throughout the lounge here’s nine pointed out by Disney this week:
· Madame Adelaide Bonfamille’s French style rugs were the inspiration for the carpets selected for the lounge. Giving it a swanky Parisian home vibe.
· The Piano has the paint-covered paw marks of Toulouse seen in the Caution – Wet Paint scene from the classic film.
· Agrabah is the theme of the Grand Hall and this lounge will take design cues from its Agrabah inspired architecture. – Side note the statue in the Grand Hall is Jasmine and Aladdin soaring on carpet and is sure to be absolutely stunning in person.
· Speciality Cocktails have been curated for the Scat Cat Lounge, designed to celebrate “The Aristocats.” This special menu will include drinks such as the Crème de la Crème Martini and The Cat Drink.
· The Cats Go Marching is the theme of the entry way to the venue. Guests will be ushered in by a parade of silhouetted cats, representing characters from the beloved film.
· The Scat Cat’s Horn can be found on the handles of the lounge’s front door.
· Hidden Characters are around for those of us who love to hunt for hidden Mickey’s. We get a new scavenger hunt in the lounge with hidden Roquefort’s. Roquefort is the beloved mouse companion of Duchess and her kittens.
· Music was an important aspect of the classic film and will be represented in the lounge by a fabulous neon sign with the lyrics “Ev’rybody Wants to be a Cat.”
· Art Honoring the Team - Disney often honors the creators of their projects by adding little details that are specific to them. The Scat Cat Lounge is no exception. There will be a poster hanging outside the lounge with instrument-playing cats, each of which depict the image of a beloved pet of a project team member.
The Disney Treasure is full of new experiences and themes to look forward to when it sets sail in December. 2025 cruise itineraries for the Disney Cruise Line are available for booking now.
