Many of us have our tried-and-true Walt Disney World Resort hotels that we return to over and over again. Disney however has many for us to choose from and there are some hidden gems you may be missing out on. Today we are going to shine a spotlight on Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. This resort recently received a huge make over and there are a lot of resort activities that will keep your family entertained throughout your stay.
Let’s start with the fabulous activities available at this unique and rustic Walt Disney World Resort.
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue – This dinner show is a foot stomping good time. This is actually the longest running live show at Disney World and is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year. Guests can enjoy the show while chomping down on an all-you-care-to enjoy feast. An advanced dining reservation is recommended for this historic, family beloved tradition.
Tri-Circle D Ranch: Does your family love horses? The Tri-Circle D Ranch is home to over 90 horses that are featured throughout the Disney World Theme parks. These horses include Cinderella’s elegant ponies and the Headless Horseman’s magnificent steed. Here your family can take a horseback riding adventure on one of many rustic riding trails or relax on a calming carriage ride. Reservations are recommended and can be made online or through the My Disney Experiences app.
Outdoor Recreational Activities: Interested in enjoying an outdoor pursuit? This resort is a great way to immerse yourself in the great outdoors. Guests can explore scenic waterways on a paddle adventure by renting a kayak or canoe. Fishers in your group? Awesome, they can try bass fishing with a guided catch-and-release outing.
Looking for something less aquatic, how does a walk through the lush meadows and cypress groves sound. Or embrace your inner Robin Hood through the Fort Wilderness Archery Experiences. Spots for this adventure fill up fast so making a reservation is recommended.
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-Along: Many of the resorts offer s’mores by the campfire in the evening. Disney’s Fort Wildness is the only one that includes a sing-along with our favorite chipmunks. This sing-along is a complimentary experience. If you would like to try your hand at roasting some marshmallows to build your own s'mores, a kit can be purchased at the Chuckwagon Snack Bar.
For those of us thinking that’s all great by I don’t camp. Me either, but I do glamp! Disney’s Fort Wildness Resort offers tent and RV camping spots, but did you know they also offer cabins. Earlier this month Disney debuted the all-new Disney Vacation Club Cabins and they are taking glamping to a whole new level!
These spacious DVC cabins sleep up to six guests. The new cabins offer an open layout that provides an upscale indoor oasis to complement the magnificent outdoor spaces of this resort. There is a spacious outdoor deck area and unlike tent camping A/C! The open concept kitchen allows you to enjoy home cooking while on vacation. While eating out is nice we often find ourselves missing our back home favorites and this space allows us to dig on in.
