The Disney Treasure Takes Hits the Water

By: Magically Martinez Vacations Inc. 8/6/24

As we get closer to the spooky and holiday seasons Disney Cruise Line continues to prepare for the inaugural voyages of its latest ship the Disney Treasure.

This week Disney shared an exciting update on its latest fleet member. The Disney Treasure reached a huge milestone this week when Disney announced the ship floated out of the Meyer Weft Shipyard building into the harbor for the first time.

This milestone was cheered on by spectators in Papenburg, Germany including Minnie herself. "The Float Out" is a significant milestone because it signifies the completion of the ship's exterior and is a maritime tradition.

The Disney Treasure was led out by the ship's stern by a tugboat. As you can see from the picture above this is quite the experience as there is only three feet of clearance on each side of the ship to lead it out into the harbor.

The interior venues will continue to receive their finishing touches as the Disney Treasure prepares for it's transatlantic journey to its future home port in Florida.

This is such an exciting time for Disney Cruise lovers, the Disney Treasure is debuting in December of this year, and will be followed next year with the Disney Destiny. You can book sailings on the Disney Treasure now! Keep an eye out for Disney Destiny information that will be featured on this blog later this week. Bookings for the Disney Destiny will begin in early fall 2024. If you are interested in booking a Disney Cruise Line adventure please reach out to Melanie at melaniemartinez@pixievacations.com.
